I am originally from a small town in northern Minnesota but moved to St. Paul, Minnesota with my now husband at the end of 2022. We relocated due to his job, and have truly been taking on city life at full force!
Although I have a masters in Forensic Psychology, my passion has ALWAYS been photography, I am talking like when I was 6. I always had a disposable camera in hand, then it was a digital point and shoot, and finally my parents bought me my first professional camera at the age of 13.
I took photos of mainly nature, but started taking portraits and eventually senior portraits when I entered high school. In high school I received training from another local professional photographer and took a college course.
I eventually went off to college in 2017 and the camera got put aside. It wasn't until 2020 when my roommates and I were bored and went out to take some photos. I thought I could maybe restart my small photo business I had in high school, and posted some ads, and BOOM it blew up to be more than I could have ever imagined. After 4 years in business, I still love it with all my soul.
When it comes to wedding photography, here are somethings that I value (especially after planning and having my own wedding):
- You should be able to enjoy your wedding day thoroughly, and be fully present.
- This is one of the only times you will have all of your people in one spot, enjoy them.
- You spend the most time with your wedding photographer than any other wedding vendor. You should like them and feel like you could be friends!
- Strive not to create moments, but letting them occur naturally. People being people.
