Okay, so here's my lore. I first picked up a camera when I was really really young, like talking kindergarten young. It started with disposables, then I moved onto digital point and shoots around fourth or fifth grade. Then I received and iPhone, and LOVED taking pictures on that. Eventually, my parents caved and bought me my first "professional" camera at the age of 13.
I have been doing it since, first starting with nature and landscapes. I then moved onto portraits, and started taking senior portraits for people when I was a junior in high school. So technically Maddi Waldo Photo (which was called MJW Photography back then) has been in business since 2015!
Another cool part of my lore that I recently learned was that my parents were pregnant with me when they were wedding DJs. So that means I have been a wedding vendor since the WOMB. Isn't that wild?! And my mom chose my name because of a little girl on the dance floor at a reception that she thought was cute?
Anyways, enough about me, I am so excited that you are here, and I can't wait to learn more about YOU.
When it comes to wedding photography, here are somethings that I value (especially after planning and having my own wedding in 2024):
- You should be able to enjoy your wedding day thoroughly, and be fully present!
- This is one of the only times you will have all of your people in one spot, enjoy them and have fun with them.
- You spend the most time with your wedding photographer than any other wedding vendor. You should like them and feel like you could be friends!
- Strive not to create moments, but letting them occur naturally. People being people.
- Trust in me. I will be there to capture it all I swear. Pinky promise.
