Summer Garden Party Wedding at The Pines White

Amy and Carter’s day was everything I hoped it would be—a summer garden party wedding with chill energy, vibrant colors, and some thoughtfully intentional details that made it feel personal and playful. If you’ve been around here a while, you might remember Amy’s name from Hanna + Brett’s wedding blog—she was the sweet friend I mentioned there. Not only that, but she’s also a sorority sister with one of my favorite people, Gabbie, whose wedding I’ll be photographing at the start of next year in Phoenix (also the same Gabbie from the Maricopa Trail engagement blog if you’ve read that one!).

So when Amy reached out and said she had been dreaming of having me as her wedding photographer for years, I was so happy. It means the world when people see you and trust you enough to document their most important moments. I don’t take that lightly.

Summer Garden Party Wedding Aesthetic

Amy and Carter met back in college, and honestly, that laid-back campus energy still radiates in how they show up for each other. They’re the kind of couple who don’t take life too seriously—they’re goofy, grounded, and just genuinely enjoy being around each other.

Their wedding at The Pines White was what you’d imagine when someone says summer garden party wedding—but better. Pink and white florals were everywhere, sweet yellow bridesmaid dresses brought the perfect pop of color, and Amy made this adorable hand-painted seating chart. It matched the vibe perfectly—artsy and intentional. One of Amy’s bridesmaids even made the cake! Everything about their day felt easy and full of heart, which is my favorite kind of wedding to photograph.

Highlights From the Day

The Pines White was the perfect clean, airy backdrop for Amy’s summer garden party vision. Those yellow satin bridesmaid dresses were a dream, and the parasols were such a fun touch, too.

The ceremony was simple, classic, and full of emotion. Amy walking down the aisle with her dad was a gut punch in the best way. After vows, we slipped away for golden hour magic. Then came the reception, and things got fun. Amy swapped into a sleek white dress so she could actually move, and from that point on, it was drinks and cigars in hand and getting groovy on the dance floor.
