300 Clifton | A Space for Your Small Wedding in Minneapolis

If you’re planning a small wedding in Minneapolis and you’re not looking for a boring ballroom or basic hotel suite, let me introduce you to 300 Clifton. Tucked in the Loring Park neighborhood, it has that “old-money East Coast mansion” vibe—with columns, gardens, and a charming front yard.

The building itself is a historic mansion turned bed and breakfast, so it’s already brimming with character. You’re met with a collection of eclectic common spaces that are honestly kind of mind-blowing. Think antique furniture, ornate wallpaper, funky art, and just the right lighting.

And if you’re someone who thrives on a little mystery or you’re into the paranormal… yeah, this place has a haunted reputation. (I don’t know if the ghosts are real, but it definitely adds to the vibe.) It’s not spooky in a bad way—more like “this place has stories to tell” energy, which I kinda love.

Whether you’re getting married here, getting ready before heading to your ceremony, or just using it as a rad backdrop for portraits, 300 Clifton has this timeless vibe that’s hard to beat. It’s elegant, moody, and weirdly comforting.

Use 300 Clifton for Getting Ready, or Your Intimate Wedding in Minnesota

300 Clifton checks all the boxes when it comes to versatility. Whether you’re hosting a small wedding, planning a cozy elopement, or just need the perfect spot to get ready before your big day, this place delivers.

The guest rooms are filled with soft textures, beautiful light, and quiet corners perfect for intimate, editorial-style getting-ready photos. If you’re someone who gets overstimulated easily, being in a space that feels calm and aesthetically inspiring is a game-changer.

One of the best things about this spot is its proximity. You’re basically down the street from downtown Minneapolis, which means if you’re getting married somewhere else, the commute is a breeze. It’s close to popular venues, hotels, and photo locations—without being smack in the middle of chaos. Ideal.

But don’t sleep on the idea of actually getting married here, either. If you’re planning a small wedding or want to keep things super intentional, 300 Clifton is seriously perfect. The layout is flexible enough to make it your own. You have indoor spaces that are warm and welcoming (and weather-proof, obviously), plus the garden and front yard if you want to say your vows outside.

Chase & Hailey’s Portraits at This Minneapolis Wedding Venue

One of my favorite things about shooting at 300 Clifton with Hailey and Chase was the little moments that felt like the universe was in on it. Hailey has this cool fish tattoo, and while we were wandering the grounds, we found a literal koi pond. Like—come on. Of course, we had to incorporate that. Just when I thought the vibe couldn’t get any more aligned, Casper, the resident black cat, casually strutted into frame. He stuck around for photos and was a total icon. It’s those tiny, serendipitous details that breathe life into your gallery.

I shot part of this session on film, and it was such a good call. Something about the texture and tone of film adds this depth and richness you can’t fake—especially in a space with so much history. Digital is clean and crisp, but film feels real in a way that’s hard to explain but easy to feel. For more on film vs digital wedding photography, click here!
