Justine and I go way back; we went to elementary and middle school together, and Andrew’s parents are friends with mine! When Justine sent me her inspiration board, I noticed various mansion-style photos that sparked some ideas. So, we contacted Glesheen Mansion, and they were more than happy to host us for their classy engagement photos. The mansion is a beautiful historic house in the Midwest with gorgeous architecture and beautifully manicured grounds. We spent our time outside, taking advantage of the lush lawn, and snagged some shots by the fountain area that felt like a little getaway. It was the perfect backdrop for capturing their classy vibe while keeping things relaxed and fun!
The day of Andrew and Justine’s engagement session was so fun! It was a perfect September day in Duluth, and while it’s usually windy by Lake Superior, we lucked out with surprisingly calm weather. Justine rocked a pretty white dress while they kept their overall style neutral—such a smart move to keep the focus on them and the location. When you’re in a place like Glesheen Mansion, you want the backdrop to shine. They even included a cute cake with their wedding date for save-the-dates, adding their own personal touch. After the mansion, we went down to Wild State Cider; they quickly changed outfits and mixed in more urban-style shots.
“Maddi, we just looked through our engagement photos, and wow, you captured our vision perfectly! We are absolutely obsessed with how they all turned out. Thank you for making us feel so comfortable. We had so much fun working with you and cannot WAIT to see what you will do for our wedding.”
