Phoenix, Arizona Wedding at The Paseo Wedding Venue

Gabbie and Cody’s wedding at The Paseo wedding venue was a full-circle moment you don’t take lightly. We met freshman year of college, so being the one behind the camera on a day this big was really special.

They moved from North Dakota to Phoenix for Gabbie’s job, and somewhere along the way, the desert stopped being a backdrop and started being part of their life. Hiking trails, dry air, and unreal views of the Superstition Mountains became their thing. So when it came time to choose where they’d get married, it wasn’t even a question. The mountains had to be in it.

They got married on their 10th dating anniversary. Ten. Years. The weather showed up, too, a classic Arizona flex. It was around 70 degrees, sunny, and hardly a cloud in sight by the time their ceremony rolled around. For guests coming in from the Midwest, it was basically paradise (maybe slightly too warm for a few of them, but no one was complaining for long).

The Paseo Wedding Venue is a Dream Arizona Wedding Location

We are taking a quick pause, because this Phoenix wedding venue deserves its own little moment. The Paseo is tucked right at the base of the Superstition Mountains, and I’m not exaggerating when I say the views are kind of insane. Like, you turn a corner, and it just hits you. Wide open desert, layered mountains, and sunsets that feel borderline fake.

What I love about it (and what actually matters on a wedding day) is how intentional the whole space feels. There are iron gates upon arrival, a clean welcome area, and separate suites so everyone can get ready without chaos. The ceremony lawn is a lush stretch of green with a raised platform, and boom—mountains directly behind you.

From there, guests move along these little paths into cocktail hour. When the sun starts to set, the light softens, the desert tones come alive, and suddenly everything feels immersive. I’d shoot here again in a heartbeat. Hint: click here to get to my contact page!

A Day That Felt Just Right

This morning felt calm. The ceremony was incredible with the mountains behind them. I still can’t get over that view. And the weight of ten years being together showed up in a really beautiful, steady way. Portraits out in the desert were a highlight for me. They were just the dreamiest shots with the sunset and massive cacti in a place that meant a lot to them. The reception was perfect; their decor and design went so well with the reception venue. And of course, we had to sneak in some film photography shots throughout the day, too.
