Cinematic Engagement Photos in the City

When Amy handed me a mood board for her cinematic engagement photos, it immediately sparked my creative gears. Despite our initial plan to shoot up north in Minnesota, the mood board painted a picture of New York Central Park vibes that resonated with Amy. We opted for a small park just outside downtown St. Paul and lucked out with the timing, as the leaves stuck around just long enough to capture the essence of the beautiful fall season. She also wanted a bit of a moody feel, so we did some photos at sunset for that nighttime vibe.

Amy and Carter first crossed paths at the University of North Dakota, where we shared many mutual friends. Amy had been following my photography since the early days, so when they decided to tie the knot, she expressed that having me as their wedding photographer was something she had always envisioned.

CRAFTING CINEMATIC ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS IN THE CITY OF ST. PAUL

Capturing their love was a breeze; Amy and Carter were easygoing, fun, and playful, with happiness shining through. Exploring the city was a blast, offering plenty of great photo opportunities. The vibrant, bright orange leaves added a perfect touch, giving off those unmistakable fall Central Park vibes.

We took a stroll through a cute neighborhood and downtown, and I’m really happy with the window shots we got at The Blair House. The evening photos gave me a bit of a chick-flick vibe – you know, like that cute and flirty moment when the man walks the woman home after their first date. I just really enjoyed the overall feel of this session!
